About

Providing Homes, Restoring Dignity, Unlocking Potential

In Japan, some single mothers are often turned away when they try to rent a home—simply because they are single mothers. Landlords often view them as a financial risk due to negative stereotypes or bias. Without a residential address, they lose access to public assistance and job opportunities, which traps them in a cycle that is hard to escape.

We are breaking this vicious cycle.

By offering affordable, comfortable housing and personal support from experienced professionals, we help mothers regain stability and move toward self-reliance.

Mothers can rebuild their lives with confidence, and so can their children.

Through our work, we hope to open up brighter futures—for both mothers and their children.

VISION

A society where everyone can feel safe and have peace of mind at home to live their own life

MISSION

Providing affordable, comfortable housing and social connections to those who have housing instability

HOW

By operating two legal entities- LivEQuality Ooya-san, a private corporation and LivEQuality HUB, a certified nonprofit organization (NPO) - we chose a hybrid management model that balances social and economic benefits

LivEQuality Ooya-san

Providing comfortable housing at rents lower than market rates

We acquire and renovate properties easily accessible by public transportation to the city center. We offer these homes to single mothers who have housing instability at an average of 30% below market rate.

Utilizing new financing methods to issue impact bonds

Acquiring real estate requires a large amount of capital. To make this possible, we issue ultra-long-term, low-yield impact bonds to impact investors. By introducing a financing model that is neither a donation nor a traditional investment, we are forging a new flow of capital.

WHY

Why are we working on this issue?

A home is not just a base for life, but a place that fosters one's dignity and potential. In Japan because of the current decline in public housing and the overheating real estate market, the number of people without secure access to safe and comfortable housing has increased.

Single-mother households, in particular, face a critical situation: approximately 44.5% live in relative poverty. This is compounded by the government's "address-based principle" (Jusho Shugi), a systemic issue where the lack of a residential address prevents access to necessary services like daycare and public assistance, making it difficult to find employment and creating a severe vicious cycle.

Meanwhile, in Europe and the United States, an affordable housing market has been established through tax incentives and innovative private initiatives.
We are taking on the challenge of creating an affordable housing market in Japan. We aim to expand our efforts nationwide with a purpose of restoring the diginity of mothers and children, and creating a society where everyone can feel safe and have peace of mind at home to live their own life.

Residents' Voices

Since moving in, I’ve had a fresh start and feel incredibly refreshed.
I’ve been displaying my children’s artwork and decorating the room with seasonal decorations.
I’m living the child-centered life I’ve always wanted.
People from LivEQuality HUB visit regularly, so I feel reassured knowing there’s someone I can rely on if I ever need help.
They’re not my friends or relatives, but I don’t feel lonely — I feel truly supported by them.
